Kauhava has been the center of Finnish knife production for over 200 years, and Ahti has been part of that tradition for decades, producing traditional Nordic knives that balance authentic heritage design with practical outdoor performance. The Ahti Knives collection at Angler's Pro Tackle covers five models across two classic Nordic blade forms. The Kaira is Ahti's traditional Finnish puukko — a compact, versatile fixed blade that has served as the everyday utility knife of the Nordic outdoorsman for centuries. Available in both carbon steel (#9612) and stainless steel (#9612rst), the Kaira features Ahti's characteristic curly birch handle with polished brass fittings and a leather sheath with a protective insert and swiveling belt loop. The Vaara (#9608rst) is a stainless steel hunting knife in the puukko tradition — a clean, purposeful blade built for field dressing, camp tasks, and everyday outdoor carry in a form that has been refined over generations.
The Leuku models represent a different and distinctly Sami tradition — the leuku is a larger, heavier Nordic blade originally used by the indigenous Sami people of northern Scandinavia for everything from processing game and fish to woodwork and camp construction. The Leuku 90 (#9609) is the mid-size version, and the Leuku 120 Kaatopuukko (#9699) — "kaatopuukko" meaning felling or harvesting knife — is the largest and most substantial blade in the collection at 120mm, built for serious outdoor and hunting work where a compact puukko isn't enough tool for the job.
