WM Bayou Bone Thug

The Bone Thug is a baitfish-profile paddle-tail swimbait hand-poured in Texas by WM Bayou, built to imitate shad, shiners, and white perch. The thumping paddle tail kicks hard on the retrieve — bass feel it coming from a distance. It can be fished on a keel hook or rigged through-line with the included through-line tube. $14.99.

How do you fish the Bone Thug?

Swimbait/keel hook — steady retrieve or slow roll near bottom. Or rig it through-line with the included tube for a different presentation. Burn it over grass flats, cover points and ledges, or speed it up when bass are schooling on open water. Vary your speed until the fish tell you what they want — some days they want it burning, other days a slow roll is the ticket.

When is the Bone Thug most effective?

Shad spawn in spring, fall baitfish migrations, and anytime bass are schooling on open water in clear to slightly stained water. It's a power-fishing search bait — cover water fast, find active fish, then slow down.

What colors does it come in?

Silver Fish, Holo Fish, Guacamole, Ghost Shad, Mr. Natural, Baby Bass, Honey, Pumpkin Seed, Blackwater. $14.99. Match your local baitfish — natural shad tones for clear water, brighter attractors for stained.
